Currently I'm a member of the Appalachian Trail Club of Florida, based in Sarasota, Florida. I recently completed a hike of the Appalachian Trail. This hike is approximately 5 million steps, 2200 miles and 95 miles of vertical climb! We used to manufacture this antenna and now our company has closed its doors, but this antenna is really the solution for those with limited real estate and yet seeking decent performance. It uses a Yaesu VX1-R in a handlebar pack, with an external battery and a homebrew J-Pole whip antenna.The bicycle is a Cannondale T800. I wear a headset/microphone and use a push-to-talk switch on the handlebars.
